Vehicle Exchange Sales Representative
A Vehicle Exchange Sales Representative serves as a vital connection between the service and sales departments, focusing on engaging with service customers to assess their current vehicles. By presenting tailored trade-in opportunities for newer models, this role drives customer satisfaction while generating sales leads from established customer relationships.
This role involves:
Stong Positive Customer Interactions: Engaging with customers to explain the appraisal process and answer any questions.
Appraisal Management: Coordinating appriasal and presenting offer to customer.
Maintaining records of appraisals and completing all necessary paperwork through application.
Communication: Liaison between customers, appraisers, and other departments to facilitate smooth operations. Meeting customer needs and requests to ensure the highest level of customer service to the customer.
This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a good understanding of both vehicle appraisal processes and sales processes.
Essential Duties & Job Description:
Work with service advisors in the service drive/lane regarding opportunities and customers open to an appraisal of their pre-owned car that requires repair.
Work with current sales staff with open communication in regard to previous customer relationships.
Completing appraisals on vehicles in for repair in a timely manner and professionally delivering the appraisal presentation to the customer.
Reviewing appraisals for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Reviewing shop repair estimates and presenting a fair appraisal to customer.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of appraisals, appraisal orders, and other relevant data.
Ensuring that all appraisals adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Providing updates and reports to management on the status of appraisals, working closely with the Used Car Manager to determine inventory thresholds and ideal cars to acquire for resale.
Handling customer service inquiries related to appraisals and conducting follow-up to customers’ appraisals that were “near miss” opportunities to acquire used cars.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or the equivalent of GED.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Minimum Two years of auto experience preferred.
Working knowledge of computers and proficient data entry skills.
Broad knowledge of all types of vehicles. Bonus for history with Hyundai.
Professional personal appearance.
Excellent communication, administrative and managerial skills.
Must have valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
Working Conditions:
The Representative will stand and move throughout the dealership facility (lot, showroom, service department, offices) for most of the shift. S/he will spend time outdoors showing vehicles to prospective customers and be able to drive vehicles in traffic during test drives. Hours will be 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, last Saturday of the month.
